Drink more water

Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses a day. Water is an essential part of the human body; we need to stay well hydrated in order to maintain a healthy body.

Water is important for the digestive system, eating right also includes drinking enough water to help the bodies digestive system.

Water also flushes the body of toxins that are harmful to your health. When you first begin to drink more water your body may ask you to urinate more frequently, this will subside as you reach a balance in your water intake.

A good rule of thumb is to drink water with your meals... that’s 3 glasses. And try not to drink water too close to bed time, sleep is a vital part of a health body as well, and waking to urinate only disrupts this.

You can program the Water reminder in My Lil’ Coach to remind you to drink the remaining 5 glasses in 2 hour increments throughout the day.  Or if you are using the Pedometer have it remind you to drink every 5000 steps.


Breathe Deeply

Reducing stress in our daily lives is an important aspect of a healthy body, as our lives become faster paced we can begin to feel more stressed. Stress can originate from a variety of sources, work, family, money; the key is to manage that stress in a healthful way. Unchecked stress can lead to increased blood pressure, increase in cholesterol, increase in fat storage through the release of cortisol and slowed digestion.

Taking time out to deep breath aids in the bodies stress coping mechanism thus reducing stress and the negative side effects that come with it.

You can program My Lil’ Coach to remind you to stop and deep breathe at least 4 times a day in 2 hour intervals. This is especially helpful in curbing those snacking feelings.


Eat Mindfully

In our busy modern lifestyles we often forget that eating is not something that should be done while in transition from one activity to another.  We have become a culture of transient eaters; we eat foods that are convenient while doing something else. Take time to think about your meals, enjoy the food, honor your hunger and feel your fullness.

You can program My Lil’ Coach to remind you to slow down your eating, chew your food well and ultimately enjoy your meal. Program the Eat mindfully 3 times a day at 3 hour intervals.



The road to good health is paved with small steps. Being physically active on a daily basis can aid in disease prevention and health promotion. Research shows that a daily goal of 10,000 steps per day can help promote a healthy body and aid in weight loss. The My Lil’ Coach Pedometer will track your steps daily. You could also set a reminder to go for that short walk around the office 3 or 4 times a day. See custom reminder.

Custom Reminder

Each of us is different and we may have different goals or needs, the custom reminder can be programmed to help remind you of medications, physical therapy stretching etc...  For the more advanced athlete set reminders for interval training such as push ups every ¼ mile, sit-ups every ½ mile...etc

Set the custom reminder to prompt you to take that walk, see walking details under the pedometer.

Eating fruit is also a good way to achieve a healthy body. Program the reminder to eat that Apple before you get hungry and want the Doughnut.

Calling that someone special and making them feel good or miserable... it is up to you how you use the custom reminder.
